One of the most satisfying things for us at DomainTools is to see our tools and data enable novel solutions that make a real difference for customers. Maccabim, a longtime DomainTools customer, has just released its Serial Cybersquatter Detector combining their know-how in the brand protection world with our market-leading database of domain and DNS information.
The premise of the SCD is interesting: it enables brandholders to join forces to cost-effectively bring action against individuals and organizations that exhibit domain-based brand infringement across multiple brands. In the era of the sharing economy and crowd-sourcing, this effort brings a quasi-social aspect to the UDRP process. It’s a Kickstarter for cybersquatting prosecution.
SCD is powered in part by DomainTools APIs. Our customers and partners continue to find new and useful ways to integrate DomainTools data and tools into their own products. Nearly all our data sets are available via API, so in addition to our world-class domain and IP Whois data, we also provision all our historic data, our reverse search tools, our monitoring services, and our powerful namespinning and domain search tools via robust, proven, RESTful APIs.
We are excited about the partnership, as it represents the best of what a technology partnership ecosystem is supposed to be: great people, empowered by great technology, doing meaningful things in cooperation.
